37 weeks (click for information)

I had another doctor's appointment yesterday.  Baby Bostwick is doing great.  Her heartbeat is strong at 138 bpm.  I am now dilated to 1 cm.  The doctor said that doesn't mean much for now and that I can continue to keep working.  I am going to try to work up until as far as I can.  I am still doing fine except for the little cold I have.  It is been hard to sleep at night because of the congestion and sore throat.  I am finally starting to feel a little better and got some sleep last night.  I can't believe we are at the final countdown and it could be any time now.  We are excited and nervous.  Soon our lives will be changed forever.

Sorry that I am behind.  Sean does a much better job keeping up with the blog.  I don't know how to do all the cool things he does.  Last week I started my weekly appointments.  Everything went well.  I wasn't dilated at all yet.  I am still feeling fine.  It seems like we are still trying to get things done around the house.  Sean has been great with getting all the projects done around here.

I was also able to find a long term substitute for my class while I am out on maternity leave.  She is great.  She has taught 4th grade in Florida and did a long term sub position last year in our district.  She is going to come and meet the kids on December 2nd and 3rd and just shadow me both of those days.  I feel relieved that I have that taken care of.

Raquels Baby Shower (slideshow)

35 Weeks (click for information)

Ok so yesterday was the baby shower and I was ran off rather quickly, more like ran, lol. From what I saw it was really impressive and would like to thank everyone so much as Raquel couldn't stop talking about it.

I spent the day with my Grandfather and had a great time doing a little target practice and inspecting carpet to help complete the basement. Before I left Mom and Grandma arrived and we were able to finish off the day with a few hands of "Oh Hell", a card game that's a bit of a family tradition.

I got home at 11 and Raquel was already in thank you card mode, but stopped immediately to show me everything including the SCRAP BOOK. We both love it and thank you all for all of the hard work. I can't thank everyone enough as I know you made this an unforgettable day for her. I know she was missing her family but just the turn out alone meant so much to her.

Props to everyone for the planning and participation of this occasion especially my sis Shannon who from day 1 new she was going to make this the best baby shower ever. Thanks again

Halloween 2008

So each year Raquel and I spend 1 night before Halloween attempting to carve pumpkins and watching scary movies. This years movie the 1990 remake of George A Romero's "Night of the Living Dead". Raquel wasn't impressed as she stated multiple times, "it's stupid, you can just walk by them (zombies), why lock yourself in a house?". She also took note of how fake everything was. Yes Raquel I know it's not as gory as SAW 57 but come on it's a classic. (Pause music to watch trailer)

Your pregnancy: 34 weeks

How your baby's growing:

Your baby now weighs about 4 3/4 pounds (like your average cantaloupe) and is almost 18 inches long. Her fat layers — which will help regulate her body temperature once she's born — are filling her out, making her rounder. Her skin is also smoother than ever. Her central nervous system is maturing and her lungs are continuing to mature as well. If you've been nervous about preterm labor, you'll be happy to know that babies born between 34 and 37 weeks who have no other health problems generally do fine. They may need a short stay in the neonatal nursery and may have a few short-term health issues, but in the long run, they usually do as well as full-term babies.

See what your baby looks like this week.
