Confirmed yet again, it is indeed a girl so as you can tell from the last post it's time to seriously consider girl names. Any ideas Shelby? aka flop head :) Without further adieu here are today's ultrasound pics.

Week 28 (click here)

Your pregnancy: 28 weeks

How your baby's growing:

By this week, your baby weighs two and a quarter pounds (like a Chinese cabbage) and measures 14.8 inches from the top of her head to her heels. She can blink her eyes, which now sport lashes. With her eyesight developing, she may be able to see the light that filters in through your womb. She's also developing billions of neurons in her brain and adding more body fat in preparation for life in the outside world.

Sorry all it's been a fun packed couple of weeks. Between Raquel and I we have been sick for the last couple of weeks. Seems like just when one of us is about to get over it the other one gets sick and the ugly sequence starts all over. Anyway I'm sure Raquel will fill everyone in but since the last post we have seen the baby move often and it really is something out of a sci fi film. We both get a kick out of it and it has made for some good laughs. Anyway I am going to keep it short as I need to get some rest. Hope everyone is doing well.

I can't believe I am at 28 weeks already. It is truly amazing how time flies by. As Sean said, it has been fun to see the baby move. She moves parts of my stomach at times. She is also moving a lot more now. She really moves quite a bit when I am watching the Broncos or Cowboys play. Sean and I both know she will be a football fan, but we don't know who she will cheer for yet. I say the Cowboys, but Sean might have a different story. We go to the doctor tomorrow for my 28 week ultrasound. I am excited to see what she looks like now. I know she has developed much more now than the last time we had one.

week 27 (click here)

Your pregnancy: 27 weeks

How your baby's growing:

This week, your baby weighs almost 2 pounds (like a head of cauliflower) and is about 14 1/2 inches long with her legs extended. She's sleeping and waking at regular intervals, opening and closing her eyes, and perhaps even sucking her fingers. With more brain tissue developing, your baby's brain is very active now. While her lungs are still immature, they would be capable of functioning — with a lot of medical help — if she were to be born now. Chalk up any tiny rhythmic movements you may be feeling to a case of baby hiccups, which may be common from now on. Each episode usually lasts only a few moments, and they don't bother her, so just relax and enjoy the tickle.

Week 26 (click here)

I had another doctor's appointment today. The baby seems to be growing just fine and her heartbeat is a steady 142 bpm. I go back in two weeks for an ultrasound. Things have been going well. The tummy seems to be getting bigger by the day. I can feel the baby moving a lot more now.

Sorry we were extremely busy last week so for those of you that like the weekly baby info I have linked the info for week 25 above. In other news the the battle between Aunts and Uncles seems to have heated up a bit. Louie and Kristy came in with the baby's first personalized bibs and Shannon and Pat the first athletic paraphernalia.
